Alan Lewis Obituary

Lewis, Alan Gerber beloved husband of Lillian Thaler Lewis and a resident of Bannockburn, IL, died suddenly on April 22, 2003, at the age of 56. Until his retirement, Alan was president and CEO of Gerber Fixtures Corporation. He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Lewis and mother, Harriet Gerber Lewis. Alan was a friend to all who knew him. He will be forever remembered for his keen sense of humor, his warmth, kindness and his generous philanthropic endeavors. Alan enjoyed being with his dogs, fishing, and racecar driving (Sports 2000 and vintage cars). He was an avid Bulls fan. Alan volunteered as a tutor for the WITS program at the Jordan School and was a Board member of the Scleroderma Foundation, as well as a member of the Illinois National Guard. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lillian Thaler Lewis, his sisters, Ila Lewis and Nancy Pollack and his extended family, including his mother-in-law, father-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, who will miss him dearly. Services will be held at Moriah Congregation 200 Taub Drive, Deerfield, IL, 60015 at 11 a.m. on Friday, Arpil 25. Interment will be at Shalom Memorial Park in Arlington Heights, IL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Moriah Congregation, the Scleroderma Foundation of Greater Chicago, Rm. 1318, 330 S.
