I wish Tony and his family all the love in the world during this hard time. Tony and I played baseball together in H.S. and Al was there for every game, ride, practice, and just, IF he was needed. I loved staying at the house bbq-ing and spending the night talking to Tony and his dad. Thank you for all you did and thank you for leaving your fingerprints on this world, you left us all way to soon. You will be soooo missed.

As we were growing up and going by Alan's Auntie Sophie's, I would want to listen to music on the radio but she had the scanner on. Alan got her hooked to listening to the police and fire calls. As we would sit on Corky and Zack's front steps, Alan's eyes and ears would always be waiting for the sounds and sights of the RED trucks. How proud everyone was when he became an official fireman instead of just a watcher. With much love and thoughts for the family.

I worked with Al over thirty years ago at McCormick Place Fire Security. We were full of life and aspirations. Al lived for the day his names would be called from the Chicago Firefighters list. I am so proud to learn Al reached his dream and achieved the rank of Captain in the Chicago Fire Department. We need more public servants like Al Juarez. Rosa, you and your kids should be so proud of Al's service to the Department and our great City. May he rest in peace.

I've known Al since he was in high school. This is such a shock we talked about retirement several times after I retired in 2007. Our deepest sympathy go to Rosa and the family. Alan you will be missed.

Al was a good friend and neighbor. He always had a smile on his face, he was kind, thoughtful and fun-loving. Al loved and spoke of his family fondly, loved the CFD, his dog Mystic and enjoyed hanging out in the warm sun. He will be missed but always remembered in our hearts... With deepest sympathy to the Jurasz family.

MY CONDOLENCES TO ALAN'S FAMILY. AS KIDS WE PLAYED BASEBALL EVERY SUNDAY AT THE BALL FIELD NEXT TO HIS AUNT SOPHIE'S HOUSE AND CHASED FIRE TRUCKS THROUGH THE NEIGHHOOD. WHAT A GREAT ONE HE WAS. DRIVE THAT BIG RED TRUCK AL.

Remembering so many years ago (that seems like just the other day) Alan chaseing fires all around Ashland Ave., Wrightwood, Fullerton, etc.. He was a little kid wanting so much to have the honor of being a Chicago Firefighter. And he DID it, a little boys dream. So proud to have him in our family. Our deepest sympathy to all fo the family. Corky, you did a great job on a little boy to a man. Auntie Sophie was ALWAYS proud of Alan. Now you will be with her and her brother, your father Zack. Peace be with all of you. Love, Linda & Tom
P.S. So grateful for the time together on April 18th. Go Cubs Go!

My condolences to the Jurasz family. He loved his family and the Fire Department. It was an honor to work with Al for 8 years on Engine 43. What a crew we had, alot of laughs and fires. Al made the firehouse fun to be at with his smile and his ability to teach the job to me and everybody he came in contact with. I thank you my friend you will truly be missed.

Our condolences to the entire Jurasz family. He was a kind and generous man. We remember how helpful he was to the CFD Gold Badge Society when we were creating the CFD Fallen Firefighter/Paramedic Memorial Park. He came to the park with his power washer and cleaned all of the stone in the council rings. It took all day and he did it all himself. He was a regular at the CFD Annual Picnic held at the park where he will certainly be missed.
We will keep Al and his family in our thoughts and prayers.
