TO THE HURWICK FAMILY:
I WORKED IN THE SAME DEPARTMENT WITH ALAN FOR 3 YEARS AND WHAT A FINE MAN HE WAS. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AND JUST KNOW THAT YOU WILL FIND PEACE AND COMFORT IN THE LORD.

My sympathy and concern to Alan's family and those who have been his friends. Some 40 + years ago (i.e., 1961) we graduated together from John Adams high school in South Bend, IN. Though I haven't seen him since graduation, I know of the pride that his mother and undoubtedly all of his family shared in who he was and his work and life. I am sending along a copy of his senior picture from the 1961 Album of John Adams High School.

Alan Hurwick was a fine and gentle man. We often joked about "Life in the Big 10," as we both graduated from Indiana University. It was an honor to have worked with such a nice person.

To Allen Hurwick's family;
I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Alan, I worked with him for many years. He was such a wonderful person, a very sincere man. Needless to say I just found out today about his passing and I wanted his family to know that many many people thought of Alan as a terriffic person. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Mr. Hurwick's passing. I have so many memories of going out to dinner with you both, when I was a child. I remember how much we always laughed, and what a kind, intelligent man Mr. Hurwick was. I will always remember how he listened to everyone, including children; He was truly a class act. I think of how thrilled he was when Sara and Lawrence were born; how sympathetic you both were when my father passed away. I am stunned by this news, and I have a sincere, fervent wish for comfort for your whole family.
