Dear Ada,
I just heard that Alan had died and am so sorry to not have been with you and all my JVS colleagues for the service.
The result of Alan's actions will long be mirrored in people like me and countless others who worked with him. The list of what I learned while working with him in professional associations and JVS is long (incredible time management skills for one). I'm so glad I've had the opportunity in my work as a staff trainer to recognize him for those contributions and my colleagues are benefiting as well.
People came to work at JVS Chicago because of Alan. He did fine work for a very large community from Chicago to Israel.

Dear Ada,
I just learned of Alan's passing . . . I am so sorry; please accept my sympathy. I served with Alan on the CARF Board of Trustees and NISH Board of Directors and we would cross paths at various national meetings and events. My office at Easter Seals Headquarters on Monroe Aveunewas just a block away from Alan's old JVS office.
I considered Alan to be more than just a colleague. He was a friend and a mentor. I always respected Alan as a consummate professional and caring person. Alan had the respect of his peers. His compassion for people in need and his incredible contributions at Chicago JVS will always be part of his huge legacy of service and caring.
We are better because we knew and learned from Alan Goldstein.

Dear Ada:
I was so sorry to see the notice of Alan's death. Please accept my sympathy. I know how difficult this time is for you and your family. Wish I could come & express my condolences personally, but we live quite far away now & I don't drive any longer due to bad eyesight. I'm thinking of you.
