Heavy is my heart to discover today that Mr. Royster has transitioned but to a Blessed Eternity. I was looking up your church address to surprise you at services tomorrow. I met Mr. Royster at F W Peck Elementary School in 1982 in P.E. I can still hear him saying, Miss Barker, if you don't take your hands off your imagination!" (Smile) A saying, I now say to the younger generation.
From gymnastics to guidance counselor and Pastor. Mr. Royster was instrumental in my mother's home going service in March of 1987. Our relationship forever changed. At 11 years old, Mr. Royster was more than just a grown up at my school. I saw an educator passionate about his work and students. Mr. Royster became my other parent, a man of the cloth, an inspiration and friend to me and my family. We discovered that we were also neighbors. I would sit on the front porch to watch him speed down Prospect coming home from work or church. Mr. Royster would wave his hand and a lot of times he stopped to share the word, to pray and to ask how my brother and I were doing in school and in life. Mr. Royster, thank you for being apart of my life, you made a difference. My condolences to your family, New Joy Devine and dear friends. [email protected]

Aaron was a co-worker and friend at Bethune
school back in the 90's. He also married Terry, the school nurse, and me in 1990. Hadn't seen Aaron since his retirement in the late 90's but he's always been in my heart and mind. Bethune was considered a low achieving school at the time, and the staff and parents worked extremely hard to reverse that. His brilliant smile and personality brightened many of those difficult days. On behalf of the Bethune community, please accept our deepest condolences.

I remember when i first met Apostle Aaron Royster at the Lodge..i saw a powerful black man guiding people the right way..when all ur used to is the negative. Sometimes i would mimic his words as he spoke the word at 11 yrs old. He impacted my life in a way that no other man has...teaching, guiding, showing compassion for you, not judging you, but helping you to see where you came from and where your at today. At age 16, was given the opportunity to speak God words , i will cherish that moment forever. I still see him now...letting us know that "Goodness n Mercy" shall follow us all the days of i lives.... I thank God for having been part of New Joy Divine for 20 yrs. Apostle Aaron L Royster...i will miss you n will always love u for helping me see what God can do when u trust and believe in him...
Praying for the Royster family...and all of New Joy Divine Family.
