Sorry I'm 21 years late. I played football at Austin High School with Zane. "Bullet" Bresloff was unique even back then. Two Bullet stories. As sophomores, we were seated alphabetically in Mr. Bristol's geometry class. Our teammate, Rich Brown, sat behind me and Zane. During tests, my job was to pass the answers to Zane who in turn passed them to Rich. Blessing to Bresloff to Brown. Not proud of that but Zane said they needed halp and I wanted him and Rich to pass so they would be eligible to play.
Our senior year I was in the library minding my own business when Zane came running in yelling, "Hey Bless, Big Daddy Lipscomb (pro football star) just died! That means you are bigger than the biggest guy in the NFL!"
Great friend and teammate. One of a kind, for sure.

I worked with Zane in 1965 at Burt's shoes in downtown Chicago. He was a real cool dude and us younger guys looked up to him. He would always stand up for us and be ready to throw down if any customer gave you a hard time. I still have vivid memories of him and he was one of"The Burt's Boys".

Zane,
At least your suffering is over. You will never be gone in the minds of your children, your wife, your sister and the many other friends and relatives.
Joyce, he was your soul mate, I wish you and the kids peace.
Although it has been such a long time since I have seen you, Zane, you were in the talks I had with Dennis, Al and Linda always. They will miss you deeply.
You were one crazy guy and likely as unique as you were there will be no other. Maybe we'll meet again at the big concert in the sky. Now rest my friend.

He gave me a career break that literally saved my life. I'll never forget him or what he did for me. Any success I have leads directly back to him.

He was a good friend whose greatest flaw was his generosity.
