Dear Rabbi and Mrs Matanky and Family,
We would like to express our sincere condolences on the untimely loss of your beloved son and brother. The loss of a loved one is always sad, but in the case of such a young and gifted person, it is doubly hard to bear. Rabbi, you have taught us the meaning of strength and faith in the beautiful eulogy you gave at the funeral. May his memory and life continue to be a source of inspiration and blessing.

Dear Rabbi Matanky and family,
Although I had never met Yaakov, knowing the kind of family he comes from, I know he must have been a wonderful person. Considering the astonishing amount of people who were able to attend his funeral, less than 20 hours after it he had passed away makes me realize how important it is to touch the hearts and lives of others - which he obviously did. Congratulations for raising such a remarkable son. With love to the whole family, take care and be well.

Dear Lenny, Margaret and families,
Though I never knew your sons, tho' probably saw him in schul, on my yearly visit to Chicago, I'm sure he was a truly good neshama. May he be a "gitter bencher" for all of us. May you not know from any more sorrow.

Dear Rabbi and Mrs. Matanky and family,
We are truly sorry for your loss. Yaakov was our role model, teacher, madrich, but most of all our friend. He inspired all of our lives with the shabbatonim he planned, the beef he made for the tishes, and the accomplishments he made with the minyan. Together with Yitzie and the rest of your family we hope to continue the projects that Tank started because we know that is what he would want us to do. Thank you very much for allowing us to all be a part of his life because he has made a huge impact on ours. We will greatly miss him.
