Jones, Willie Rayford Was born April 10, 1947. His Homegoing was April 4, 2011. He was born to the union of Ohleyer and Frances Jones, both deceased. He confessed Christ at an early age under the leadership of his Godfather E. L. Strawhorn at Pleasant Green, M.B. Church. He was educated at Sherwood Grammar School, Englewood High School, Wilson Jr. College and Western Illinois University. Willie was well known as "Ray" but also called 100 Pipers, Maskman, Baby Ray, Big Daddy, Paw and Ray Cat. His work journey began with McDonald's, Post Office, Advertising Distributing, Alton Box Co., Commonwealth Edison, Tishman Construction, Corn products, U.S. Steel and Ford Motor Co., and International Harvester. He became employed with the Teamsters-Local 710-Nu Car Hauling, and was able to work there 30 years to retirement. He loved sports; basketball and softball were his talents. He was fortunate enough to play with and against the best players in the city and state. He was given special recognition for his talented contribution at Englewood High School. Loving memories will be shared by his wife Pamela, loving children: Shunnie Houston (Why are you so pretty?), Onya Jones-Chesser (Paw's baby girl) (Albert), and his namesake, Willie R. Jones Jr. (Deceased), his God Sister; Nora Strawhorn and Godson, Carl P. Matthews Jr,, his grandchildren Dashion (very special relationship), Roy III (Mr. Know It All), Robare, Amelie, Vivia, and Deion, his great granddaughter Braylin Jones (Florida), siblings Ohleyer Jones, Jr. (Ann) Alabama, Levon Jones, Eloise Rutledge, New York, Eldred Jones (The Baby), Carl Jones (Deceased) and a host of. nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
