William Utosh Obituary

Utosh, William G. "Bill" age 78, late of Lockport, Friday, October 12, 2007, at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital. Born in Chicago, living in Lockport for seven years. Bill was a retired Engineer for the Merchant Marines after 30 years of service. A WWII Navy Veteran and Korean War Merchant Marine Veteran. Member of the Lockport VFW Post #1557 and the American Legion John Olson Post #18. A loving father, grandfather and friend to many. Preceded in death by his parents, William and Hazel (Hackett); a brother, David; and a sister, Hazel Marie Sladek. Survived by his children, Jim of Lockport and Betty Hamilton of Downers Grove; two grandchildren, Anthony and Bobbie Jean Formella; three great-grandchildren; former wife and friend, Roberta (Walter) Krakowsky of Lockport; and a sister, Beverly Jezik of Plainfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Legion John Olson Post #18 or the Lockport VFW Post #1557 would be appreciated. Funeral services will be held Monday, 9:30 a.m., from the O'Neil Funeral Home, 1105 E. 9th St., Lockport, to St. Joseph Church, Lockport for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. Visitation Sunday, 2 to 7 p.m. O'Neil Funeral Home, Lockport, 815-838-5010.
