William Thomas Ramey
William Thomas Ramey, 65, of Lynchburg, died Wednesday Nov. 15, 2006, in Branson, Mo. He was the husband of Betty Perdue Ramey.
Born in Bluefield W.Va., he was a son of the late William C. and Virginia Ramey.
He graduated from West Virginia University in 1964, was a retired Lt. Col. in the U.S. Army Reserve with 28 years of service, worked for the Virginia Department of Transportation for 42 years, recently retiring from the Lynchburg District as District Administrator for 14 years. Mr. Ramey was a loving and devoted husband, father and uncle.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Scott Ramey and his wife, Tracy, of Pilot Point, Texas; one sister-in-law, Patricia Handy and her husband, Paul; one aunt, Helen Hawkes; three nephews; one niece; and many loving friends.
Rev. Jonathan Falwell will hold a funeral service at 7 p.m. today at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel. Burial and committal will take place at 2 p.m. Monday in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, W.Va. by Rev. Homer Stewart.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel, 237-2722.
