To Sister Donna and other close friends/relatives of Fr. Quinn:
I echo the comments of my OLP Class of '66 classmate Mary Anne. Fr. Quinn was both authority figure and friend to dozens of us south side kids at OLP that grew up on the South Shore (or tried to). He could scare the daylights out of an altar boy who made a wrong move, make us laugh at the drop of a pin, or shoot hoops with us in the schoolyard. He certainly doesn't need our prayers to rest in peace, we will always remember him as someone very instrumental in growing up and achieving whatever we have now. And it was great to see him in all his humor at virtually all OLP reunions in our adult years.

Dear Sr. Donna,
I am one of the class of OLP that we call "the finest class ever" (1966). We are a group that has had reunions (10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, etc.), get-togethers and last year we celebrated a communal 50th birthday party for ourselves. Although, many of us did not actually go through graduation exercises together that year, a great majority of us feel bonded and have attended our reunions, etc. for the past 30 plus years.
Your brother was at every one of our gatherings with the exception of last year.
At a couple of our last reunions, he had great fun in telling us that we, the OLP class of 1966, were much older now than when we thought he was old as a new priest.
Part of our childhood died with your brother.
While at OLP, he was a guest at my parent's home several times during my childhood. Years later, he came to dinner at my home and wowed my children with his telescope.
As an aside, I was at the "Phil Donahue", show years ago, when you and Fr. Greeley were guests. I think your brother was at my home after that and told me that you were his sister. What a small world!
I am remiss that I did not get to his wake. Please remember that he will always be remembered by me and the 1966 class of OLP.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann Majewski Begale

What a loss! I feel as though a part of my youth has died. I first met Fr. Bill Quinn as a 7th grade student at Our Lady of Peace when he first came there fresh out of seminary. What a truly humble man, caring in all ways, with a gifted sense of humor. God bless his friends and family at this time of loss, and God bless you Fr. Bill for enriching our lives. Now you view the stars from another perspective!

We first met Bill in 1970 when he was an Associate at St. Adrian's and we were five Adrian Dominicans down the street at St. Clare of Montefalco Parish. Bill was always very generous to us with his time and offered Mass for our community on a regular basis. Over supper we shared our dreams for the renewal of the Church brought about by Vatican II. Bill also introduced me to his sisters, Joyce and Donna, who have become dear friends. Bill's Irish wit and steadfastness are two qualities that I admire. I know that all the angels and Quinns are welcoming you home. Rest, dear friend, but don't forget those of us here on earth, especially Donna. We're going to be calling on you a lot. Peace and Love, Marianne

I was a student at Our Lady of Peace from 1959-1965. Fr. Quinn was always so kind to us. We would visit him in the rectory if we didn't see him outside in the school yard. One summer he and a classmate of his joined our family at Lake Geneva. He added to the many fond memories of my grammar school experience. I will keep him in my prayers and his family as well.

As altar servers, my sons came to know Fr. Quinn much better. They respected & both admired him as our pastor. And even after my 2 older sons were confirmed and no longer altar servers, Fr. Quinn took the time to shake their hands after mass and ask them how they were doing. I believe that this kindness and respect that Fr. Quinn had for both the young and old, inspired my sons to stay active in the church & volunteer their time for different events when possible. Fr. Quinn will be missed by my family.

We didin't know Father Quinn for nearly as long as many people did, but at the same time we feel very blessed to have known him for the short time that we did and for him to have touched our lives in so many ways. He became our friend as well as our pastor.
He performed our marriage ceremony and just a few months ago, he was one of my instructors as I went thru the RCIA.
We'll miss and love you always, Father Quinn.
God Bless You Donna & Mary
You are both in our prayers.

Dear Donna, Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. We will never forget Bills kindness, his dedication to the Priesthood and his fine example of Faith. He never forgot us....he was always with us on our Journey as we traveled through our heartbreak when we lost our Precious Susan. He seemed to always know when we needed him most. For thirty-six years we shared many, many great memories..the laughter and the tears. We will miss him so...but will always remember his love and friendship which we will cherish forever. Love, Larry and Kathy

I knew Father Quinn from attending Mercy High School. He took several of us girls up to Sunset Point for our Senoir Class trip back in 1965 and he certainly made a difference in my life.
Father married my husband and I in 1976. When my father passed away in 1989 he came to the wake and that very same day he had just said a funeral Mass for his best friend it was a very difficult day for him.
He will be truly missed as he touched many lives. We will continue to keep him in our prayers but I'm sure he is in heaven, he was a wonderful man, priest and friend.

Prayerful sympathy to the parishioners, family and friends of Fr. Quinn. I remember him very kindly from 45 years ago at the seminary. Hopefully to know that one more person understands and cares deeply will be of some added comfort to you. Be filled with Easter Hope and Joy!
