William Olbrisch Obituary

Olbrisch, William P. 85, of Norridge, passed away April 5, 2013 after a yearlong decline in health. He is a graduate of Lane Technical High School in Chicago, where he met his late wife Joan Cribari Olbrisch. He served two years in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a tool engineer at Motorola when he lost his vision in a 1974 accident. He was blood donation coordinator for his Knights of Columbus chapter and was active in the carnival committee at St. Rosalie's parish. He and Joan taught classes in old time radio at Triton College and led an old time radio performance group. He was the son of the William A. and Pauline (Stanewicz) Olbrisch; the brother of James and Leonard Olbrisch; and the grandfather of Ryan Anzalone, all deceased. He is survived by 5 children, William (Laurie Bornhorst), Mary Ellen, Suzanne Hlotke (John), Joan Anzalone (Russell) and Peter; by eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his sisters-in-law, Dolores and Patricia. Instead of flowers, please make contributions to the Central Blind Rehabilitation Center (124), Edward Hines VA Medical Center, 5000 5th Avenue, Hines, Illinois 60141. Visitation Wednesday, April 10 at 9:15 a.m., Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Rosemont, Illinois, funeral Mass immediately following at 10:30 a.m. Int. All Saints.
