William Malpede Obituary

Malpede, William F. Age 90, passed away on March 30, 2018, at his home Maple Court Senior Living, Powell TN, surrounded by his family. Bill was born in Oak Park, IL on October 27, 1927 to William and Louise (Atherton) Malpede. He married Lucille Salomone July 1, 1950. Lucille survives along with daughters Lynn (Matthew) Buchmeyer, Donna (Carmen) Saracco, son William V. Malpede, grandchildren Karen (Steve) Larsen, Rich (Kristia) Hord, Michael (Daniela) Saracco, Daniel Riedel and David Riedel. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Francis. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-49 aboard the USS Missouri at Camp Peary, VA and at Treasure Island, CA as personal driver for Vice Admiral McInerney. A career printing pressman, loving husband to Lu, father to Lynn, Donna and William, Bill's avocation was his golf game, belonging to numerous clubs around Chicago. He also played piano and enjoyed popular music and films. Bill and Lu had been married 68 years and grew up next door to each other. In respect to their lifelong connection, we have chosen to keep Bill's remains with Lu until she is ready to join him permanently in Forest Home Cemetery, IL. We will honor Bill in a Memorial Celebration on April 22 at 3:00 p.m. at Maple Court, 7545 Thunder Ln., Powell, TN 37849. No flowers please.
