I was deeply saddened when I found out about Big Bill Passing away.
I spent the last five years of my time on the Fire Department working with Bill. He was the Captain of the Engine and I was the Lieutenant of the Truck Company. We were not only partners but he and I were very close friends.
Bill was a giant of a man and had a heart as big as he was.
We shared many fun moments, as he had a wonderful sense of humor.
Bill was a genuine Gentleman and I enjoyed every moment that we worked together.

Dear Pat,
I hurt so much for you. The loss of Bill is so enormous. What a good man! I don't know of any other person who did so much brave, life-saving work but was so reluctant to take any credit or praise for it. He is the definition of a hero. What an real and honest legacy he has left for all of us. You will be in my prayers.

Our prayers are with the family. We had the pleasure of getting to know Bill at a number of Duke basketball games and one will never find a better man. He will be missed and we are deeply saddened to learn of his passing. Love and blessings to the entire family.
