William Jackson Obituary

Jackson, William "Bill" E. 82, August 6, 1932 - December 25, 2014. Bill was a lifetime resident of the South Side of Chicago. He was a loving husband to his wife of 63 years, Catherine (nee Hubbard); devoted father of William (Debra) Jackson, Jr., Michael, Michelle and Judith; loving grandfather of Kesha, Toria, (Kareem), Michael, Mariel and Malik; loving great-grandfather of Patrick, Patricia, Paris, Payton, Preston and Zuri. Preceded in death by his parents, Bedford and Mabel Jackson; his two sisters, Dorothy and Jeanette and a brother, James. He leaves to mourn a sister, Carolyn (late Bertrand) Vappi and a brother, Gary (Denise); many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. Bill was a graduate of Shoop Elementary School and Morgan Park High School. He received his Certificate in Business Administration from UIC. "Bill" was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. Bill held many positions and served on many boards, but his greatest was as Senior Vice President of Schiefflin Somerset & Co, from where he retired. Once retired, he decided to become his own boss and started WEJAC Trucking Company. Memorial Service will be held at CAGE MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 7651 S. Jeffery Blvd., Chicago, on Saturday, January 24, 2015. The Visitation is from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the Memorial Service is from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donaiton to Chicago Inter-Alumni Council of UNCF. Donations may be sent to 7624 S. Wood St., Chicago, IL 60620.

I loved the converations that I had when I first met my brother-in-law. He was a very intelligent man and very well versed in world affairs. I always walked away with something that I never knew about thanks to him. May God continue to help the entire Jackson family find comfort and peace.
