I have fond memories of Uncle Bill since I was about 6 years old--WWF-style wrestling matches, skiing for the first time in Bass lake, enjoying his 4th of July pig roasts (jointly with his birthday) and having snowball battles. I remember his '90s sunglasses, bronze skin and golden mustache. I remember the neon shorts and the muscle Ts. And the biceps.

I remember the movie-persona impersonations.

I remember his infectious laughter at family get-togethers and holidays.

Most important, I'll remember his hands--literally and figuratively--both incredibly large and gifted, re-packaging homes and decks with imagination and intuition. It was awesome to see what he could make.Quite literally, there are few people who have created more physical infrastructure than Uncle Bill.

(Note: At anyone time, one of his finger nails were colored blood purple from a hammer missing its mark. He bore more callouses and blisters than most anyone had seen.)

I remember. And I won't forget.
