Herber, Sr., William Edward 84, of Evanston, beloved husband of Kathleen, loving father of Will (Helen) Herber, Jr., Margo Bleser, Prudence (Sam) Wilson, proud grandfather of Amy Hughes, Andrew Bleser, Hilary Bartoli, Sabine Finnegan, Christopher and Nicholas Banner, great-grandfather of Austen, Skylar Hughes and Atticus Bartoli, dear brother-in-law of Georgiann Greven. Visitation Tuesday, 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Donnellan Family Funeral Home, 10045 Skokie Blvd., at Old Orchard Rd., Skokie. Funeral Mass Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Lake St. and Oak Ave., Evanston. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie. In lieu of flowers, memorials to ALS Foundation, 8142 N. Bill was one of the most unique people I ever knew. He was truly a Renaissance Man with numerous diverse interests and talents. I admired him and he was a big influence on me. My wife and I will miss him very much. Our deep condolences to his family.

I have a lot of fond memories and considered Bill a great person. It has been a long time but I still consider him an important part of my life. He was right up to the top. My kids were lucky to have him as a grandfather, I know he loved them a lot. My condolences to Kathleen and the family.
