William Harris Obituary

William R. Harris

1917 - 2003

Bill peacefully passed away June 28, 2003 in Everett following an extended illness.
He was born February 7, 1917 in Yakima, WA to Herbert and Mabel Harris. The family moved to Everett, WA in 1930. After graduation from Everett High School in 1935, Bill went to work for the Post Office.
He married Patricia Ann Webster of Snohomish, WA in November 1941. When WWII started, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps., commissioned a 2nd LT, he served as a pilot with the 437th Troop Carrier Group. After the war ended in 1945, he returned to the Post Office until retirement in 1972. Bill then worked for the State Liquor Board for a number of years.
Bill made friends easily and always enjoyed a lively conversation.
After Pat and Bill both retired, they enjoyed spending time at their vacation house in Scottsdale, AZ.
He is survived by his loving wife Patricia (Pat) of Everett, WA, sons, William Robert Jr (Puk) of Las Vegas, NV, Richard of Las Vegas, NV and James (Debbie) of Marysville, WA. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Kami Harris Bredereck of Everett, WA, Ryan Harris of Tulsa, OK and Chris and Heather Harris of Marysville, Wa, 1 great-granddaughter, Hailey Harris of Tulsa, OK and many nieces.
The family would like to give a special heartfelt Thank You to the nurses and care-givers of Heritage Court. They were truly a comfort.
Memorial services will be held at a later day.
