You hired me in 1992 and gave me the Chicago experience.

You eill never be forgotten your legacy lives in thanks for all the underprivileged children you helped escape the mean streets of chicago I and forever thanks for your mentoring of me...

Mr Birts you were a shining light to my life and many others.only today i have heard you have made your way to heaven.and to Shirley, you have my most deepest sympathy.

Think of the many jokes, laughs, travels, and other pleasant things that the two of you shared with family and friends. It was a pleasure to know one of the most loving and caring couples i have ever met in my lifetime . Not many students got to know the side of mr birts out of school I was one of the few and fortunate. And proud to say the time you and your husband invested in me has shaped my life for the better.although I always wanted to find you all to always express my gratitude to my mentor and his wife I am deeply sorrowed by your loss .and my prayers are with you and the family.

Mr.Birts crowned me Englewood Homecoming Queen 95/96 & will always be remembered in my family. He also was my mothers nursing adivisor when she attended Englewood c/o 76.
