I read with sadness about the death of Walter. He and Selina were supporters of Holy Family in the 70's. I am grateful to them for their interest and generosity to the Jesuit team who served the parish. I am sure Walter, Selina, Frank Holland and Tim Kelley are all watching over us now. The family are in my prayers and gratitude. Peace, Chuck McEnery

It was an honor to have Walter McGuire as my uncle. I have so many memories of him, picking us up for cousin football games or taking us to Notre Dame Football games, or swimming at the CAA. I even remember being a child at his 29th birthday party. He came to my wedding 40 yrs ago. In short I loved him a lot and will miss him greatly.http://youtu.be/YZy05atU2fA

Condolences to the McGuire family. Especially Walter III. Myself and all my brothers enjoyed looping for your dad at North Shore. He was always a pleasure to be with.
Rest assured, God has already reserved a tee-time for Coley and his Grandpa in Heaven.
Take care.

"I'm not driving 90 miles to miss a kickoff!" And he never did miss one. Thanks, Uncle Walt - you were one of a kind.

I was so saddened to learn of the passing of your Dad. I have so many wonderful and fun memories working for him at Continental Illinois National Bank for 6 years between 1963-l969. Over all these years I hold such fondness for him. I so enjoyed the stories he told me about all of you, his beloved children, Notre Dame and Arnold Palmer. My deepest condolences to the entire McGuire family.

Uncle Walt organized our touch football games, taught us at an early age how to play by the rules. There were saturday trips to South Bend during the fall and saturday outings to the CAA during the winter. He was devoted to his family and cared about the welfare of all his nieces and nephews. He raised the bar for all of us on how we should live our lives.

I won't ever forget the day I met Walt at Wrigley Field. What a devoted alum! The whole Notre Dame community will miss him. We hope to beat the Seminoles in his honor.
