"Jocko" WWII Army Veteran, beloved husband of Sophie "Zos" (nee Rzeszut), loving father of Peter (Lois) Kozak, Carol (Robert) Koch, Kathleen (Larry) Jackel, Martha (David) Gomolka, Michael (Lisa) Kozak and Stephen (Janet) Kozak, devoted son of the late Peter and Martha Kozak, cherished grandfather of Matt (Adrianna), and Beth Kozak, Scott Koch, Benjamin (Alice), Sarah, Claire and the late Christopher Jackel, Marina and Ross Kozak and Lynn and Stephen Kozak, proud great-grandfather of Julia and Sophia Kozak, dear brother of the late John and Monica Kozak, Irene and Donald Maloy, Adeline and Arthur Ungurait, fond brother-in-law of Cecilia (the late Edwin) Waszak, Irene (the late Chester) Nykiel, Jean (Ed) Petrasek and the late Therese and Charles Mierzwa, special uncle of many nieces and nephews. Funeral Thursday, 8:45 a.m. from Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn to St. Gerald Church for mass at 9:30 a.m. Interment Private. Visitation Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m. Graduate of Lindblom High School and the Art Institute of Chicago. Retired exhibit designer. Former parishioner of St. John of God Church. Member of St. John of God Goodfellowship Club. Sacred Heart Society #308 PRCUA. Amvets Liberty Post #68. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Multiple Sclerosis Society, 525 W. I was deeply saddened to hear of Jock's passing. I continue to have fond memories of the 4th of July celebrations in the Ashland backyard. I am grateful for the legacy Jock leaves.

To the wonderful Kozak family, please accept my condolences on the loss of your father. One of my earliest church memories is standing on the steps of St. John's greeting your parents and the Kozak sisters after Mass. Even the obit reflects your father's devoted faith-filled life. What a legacy! My prayers are with all of you.

Lois, my heart is with you and your family at such a difficult time. I know you're very strong, but even the strongest people sometimes need a little support. You know I am here any time you need a shoulder. Our memories are always with us to look back on any time we need a smile. Miss you! And maybe you and I can go shopping for shoes when you get back; after all that makes us feel better for a little while! Take care of yourself, see you when you get back Mrs. Thang!! XOXO!!
