I worked at Harry S. Truman College from 1990 through 1996 in the Audio Visual Dept and knew Dr Wallace B. Appelson as a very kind hearted and and down to earth gentleman. His kind attitude and jokes made it comfortable to work with him. I remember him dressed up exquisitely and walking in through the back door of Audio Visual, extending his arm for a warm handshake. Once he introduced me to his father. When I greeted him, he smiled and said, "Wallie is my only son". He looked very proud of Dr Appelson. I will truly miss his distinguished voice and great personality. I offer my hearfelt condolences to Mrs Appelson and family.
Best Regards:

Dear Appelson Family:
My deepest heartfelt sympathy for the passing of Dr. Wallace B. Appelson.
It was a privilege to be a part of his staff at Truman College from the beginning until his retirement. I am a 1996 retiree.
He was a very kind and loving person and cared for everyone! I especially remember him during all the graduations and what a wonderful master of ceremonies he was. I shall never forget him and I am glad that he crossed my path of life.

Dear Marilyn, Family and Friends,
Dr.Appelson was a great man.He touched the lives of millions of people, and made them better, more human, more loving, more kind. He taught us to believe in ourselves and through that belief we achieved great things. Ones far beyond our dreams. Dr. A left the world a better place and he will be missed.

Dear Appelson family,
I am profoundly saddened by the news of the passing of Dr. Appelson. I was honored and privileged to be a part of his administration continuously over parts of three decades from the founding of Harry S College in 1976 until his retirement in the 1990s. Several years ago, after my own retirement from Truman College, my wife and I moved to the West Coast to the State of Washington. Since that time, I have maintained intermittent communication with Dr. Appelson via the e-mail. I shall keep his name in my e-mail address book as a remembrance of him until that time what I am able to reestablish communications with him in a perfect world.

I am sorry to hear of Dr. Appelson's passing. I was a staff member at Truman College where he served as president. He was a kind leader and a nice person. As my instructor at Northeastern Illinois University I learned much from his knowledge. He is missed. My thoughts are with his family - may god see you though these times.

It was a priviledge to be associated with Dr. A. He always encouraged me to excel and took even more pleasure than I in my successes.
