Ginny was born in Hanford, California to Grant and Dorothy Potter on April 18, 1950. She attended Lemoore Schools and graduated from Lemoore High School in 1968. While in high school she attended Federico Beauty College and worked as a beautician for 13 years. She then enrolled in an accounting program with West Hills College and upon completion began bookkeeping for numerous businesses with the most recent being South Fork Ranch, Flying M Ranch and Polder Bros. Farms.
She will forever be remembered by her loving husband of 16 years Jack Garman; children David Cotta and wife Kim, Eric Cotta and wife Monik, Shawna Hodges and husband Jason, April Cotta, and Dena Garman; 13 grandchildren Megan, Ashtyn, Marissa, Tristan, Sierra, Brandon, Lauren, Madison, Janessa, John, Blake, Celeste and Haley; one great-grandchild Halston; mother Dorothy Potter and brother Frank Potter, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her.
She is preceded in death by her father Grant Potter in 2002, and two brothers Michael Potter in 1969 and Stephen Potter in 1971.
Ginny enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She could always be found on the sidelines cheering on her children and grandchildren and most recently supporting Lemoore Youth Soccer League, so much that a soccer field has been named in her memory.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service celebrating Ginny's life on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 9:30am at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 870 North Lemoore Avenue, Lemoore, California. A reception will immediately follow at the O'Doherty Hall, north of the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. Arrangements are by Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel.
