REED Virdie L. "Nimba" Reed, 80, passed away Monday, October 4, 2010. Retired from Mercy Hospital after 25 years of service and was a foster parent for 21 years. Preceded in death by children Earnest "Pepper" Reed, Jr., Abigail Reed, and Henry "Cookie" Reed, and former husband Earnest L. Reed, Sr. Survived by daughter, Yvonne (Dewey) Daniels; and son, Bernard (Sue) Reed; grandchildren, Andre' (Liane) Reed, B.J. Reed, Jr., Naomi Reed, Amon Lance Reed, and Kenyutta Hunter; great- grandchildren, She'lynn, Andre' Jr., and Lance Jr.; brothers, James (Mary) West and John (Mary) West; sisters, Josephine Hayes and Etta Sams; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Homegoing Celebration 12Noon Monday, October 11, 2010 at Bethel Baptist Missionary Church, 581 Seymour Ave., where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the start of service. Pastor Stanley Bingham, officiating. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estate. Arrangements entrusted to DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long Street.
