I just discovered Dr. Dodo´s passing. He was my Music Theory teacher at NIU 1971-72. He also was responsible for securing a teaching position for me at Waukegan Public Schools. I retired after 33 years teaching H.S. Music and being department Chair of Music for the last 12 years of my career. I am forever greatful for Doc Oddo and all that he done for me.

A wonderful teacher and valued mentor. Vince was my theory professor and major advisor at Northeastern back in the 1980's. An inspiring and passionate musician with a generous heart and he is very much missed. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

Dr. Oddo was my theory professor at Northeastern almost 20 years ago. He inspired me to continue my musical training and I went on to get my master's degree. I feel a great loss because I know what a profound impact he had on my life and my career, and I will always remember his passion for music and his belief in me. Without him I would not be who I am today. This is the kind of person he was, and I am certain he inspired many of us to pursue our passion!

Vince was a fine colleague and much appreciated by students and faculty at Northeastern Illinois University. His enthusiasm for music was unquenchable and I think this is what made him an indispensable part of the program. He touched many lives with his musical knowledge and made us richer for it.

I came to know Vince during the most difficult time of his life. He fought his illness with courage and strength. He faced death with dignity and without bitterness. It was a privilege to be of whatever help I could during my time of knowing him. My sincere sympathy to you, Bonnie, and your family. I know that your loss is so great.

Dear Bonnie,
I don't know if you remember me but I do remember you and Vincent. We double dated a couple of times when Vincent was studying violin at Cosmopolitan of Music. I always remember him as being so much fun with a wonderful sense of humor. I am very sorry for your loss but I want to reassure you that knowing him was a very happy time for me.
