Vincent Blakely Obituary

I was a machine technician for a customer of Small Assemblies when I met Mr. Blakely in 1995. I was from a small town and had never been to Chicago. He took me to dinner at a restaurant with fireman helmets all around the walls. I had one of the most interesting two weeks of my career. He made me feel as if he was interested in where I came from as well. I consider my brief acquaintance with Mr. Blakely to be one of the most memorable and profound times of my career. Never forgotten.

Vince and I have been friends for all the years he had Small Assemblies.He has been my best friend for at least the last ten years. He was honest, generous and loyal to a fault.I actually haven't accepted the fact that he is gone and I miss him very much.

Vince was my boss for the past fifteen years. He was the most caring, honest, and wonderful boss any person could have. I miss him terribly and will continue to miss him every time I enter the building.
