Nana this is Jimmy. I know youre one of my angels making good things happen for me lately as going through hardest time of my life now. I love you and May is approaching soon as your birthday. I miss you nana, I wish you would have met kathy you would fall in love with everything about her. I am no longer with my father, mother, or sister. Sick things happened to me from them, but I am writing this to you because I feel personally that you are protecting me from a lot lately. Also the cats. I used to remember us watching the Cubs game together, you rubbing my hair when I was little. Every single thing and word was love from you and you were pretty much my favorite person. I am now 39 Nana and I am trying to get my life back together and Kathy and I need your wishes. I know you are watching down on me from heaven and I miss you. You always believed in me and my successes, That will never change. I loved when we would spend time with you in the basement in Kenosha around the holidays with you and watch your old sitcoms with you. I miss your embrace and love and I will love you until my final days here in this world. I love you grandma Nana. -Jimmy ...rest easy.

Hi Ma,
On Sunday it will be Christmas Eve and I suppose I will go to Jeanies for awhile. It won't be the same without you sitting there in your chair. I remember last year Jeanie and I tried to make pecan cookies and we gave you one to try and you made a face but couldn't tell us what we were doing wrong. So no homemade cookies this year, no double baked potatoes or sauer kraut either. I sit and think of all the work you always did to make Christmas nice for us. Thank you.
I bet you are decorating the tree up there and putting on the tinsel one by one. In all these years I have never seen a tree as perfect as yours. We will go to Sherri's house and have dinner and maybe look at your old slides of Christmas on LeClaire. I'm sure you will be watching too! Talk to you later.
(I Love You, Take Care, Thank You)

Hi Ma,
Today is your Birthday and I was thinking of you. I wish you were here so I could sing the birthday song, maybe I will anyway. I remember in December you and Jeanie were singing it to me............
and I thought I sang off key!!!
Sherri and the family went to the Cubs game tonight and the Cubs won!
They had a good time. Can you believe that Joey and Nicky are both taller than Sher and Joe. Must be that Florida sun. They miss you too.
Good night for now Ma and remember that your thought of often.
Love Peggy

Well today is Mothers Day and I was thinking about you. I'd like to think that you are uncovering and pruning the rose bushes up there.
It was hard taking care of you towards the end ma, because we sometimes couldnt understand what you were asking for, but I wish you were here so I could brush your hair again for hours and play musical chairs with you. (smile)
The sun just came out after days of cloudiness, did you do that? So take care and know that we are all thinking of you. Love Peggy

Hi Gram,
Happy Easter. I miss you lots. Im making a nice honey ham Sunday and I will be thinking of you.
I miss you lots. I went through some of your things and I couldnt believe how many mementos and cards, etc. you had saved.
We sat on your floor and read them all. It was touching.

MOM

The last night
Jeanie and I were with you as your breathing was slowing down,
There was no pulse but your heart was still beating,
I believe you were waiting till all your children could gather round.
Jim and his family rushed to say their good-byes, we all had tears in our eyes.
Later I went to check on you again because I did'nt want to believe it was true, but as I looked at you I thought,
Gods garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the Best.
And when I saw you sleeping so
peaceful and free from pain,
I could not wish you back
To suffer that again.........
and then the candle went out.
3:10a.m.
I'll miss you Ma,
Love Peggy

Even though Vera moved from Leclaire Avenue several years ago, we'll always remember her. She was always fun to talk to and knew so much about the history of the block! She was a delightful character. We are so sorry for your loss. The Johnsons
