Valentine Ceko Obituary

Ceko, Valentine beloved wife of the late George Ceko, loving mother of Theresa (Dr. Dragomir) Jovanovic and George Jr. (Cheryl) Ceko, cherished grandmother of Andrew and Christopher Jovanovic; fond aunt of Jela Zivkovic, godmother of Patricia Weiser. Valentine survived World War II, the liberation of Buchenwald and German labor camps before coming to the United States in 1950. She and her adoring husband were married for 50 years prior to his death in 2004. For twenty years she selflessly cared for him during his many illnesses. She loved having her family around her and doted on her grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife and mother. She will be forever missed. Visitation Monday, 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Chapel, 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago, with a Pomen Service at 6:00 p.m. Will lie in state Tuesday, November 23, 2010 from 8:30 until time of service at 9:00 a.m. at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church, Lansing, IL. Very Rev. Milos Vesin officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
