On behalf of the entire Sanchez Family we send our love and prayers to Zeferina and the Castanon Family.
My grandparents Juanita and Florentino Herrera were the sponsors (Madrino and Padrino) at Toribio and Zeferina' wedding in Waco. Toribio was my brother Mike's Padrino. Our family spent time together ever since Martin and I were babies. My parents John and Matilda (Tillie) Sanchez made sure to keep in touch through the years. If the family would please contact my parents I know they would appreciate it.
Toribio served our Lord here on earth and is surely basking in his loving graces. We will miss him.

I was so sorry to learn of Mr. Castanon's passing. My father, Elmer Swiatkowski, was a friend from Teletype Corporation and considered "Toby" a cherished co-worker. Their common love of the Catholic faith was a special bond in the workplace.
May you his family be strengthened by the wonderful tributes in this guest book and the beautiful example he set throughout his life by his service to the Church and his community.
My deepest sympathies to Toby's family and many friends --

To The Castanon family - We know you're going through a very difficult time now ... and you can be sure God knows it too. And although there's very little now one can do or say to alleviate your sorrow, still, may these words of sympathy help comfort you knowing others understand and share your loss with you. Toby was our friend and "padrino"---a fine, trusted friend. God took him from us, but to those who knew and loved him, his memory will never grow old. He lived a good life, he has finished his course, he has kept the faith. Que descanses en paz, amigo.

I was privileged to be one of Senor Castanon's fellow employees at Teletype Corporation in the 70's and 80's. I can easily say that he was one of the kindest, warmest people I met. I was aware of his service to the church and the community back then and it still serves as an inspiration to me today. May God bless Toby and his family.

When I heard of your passing, my mind was flooded with childhood memories of you driving Maria and I from school to the house through out our high school years, of how when I wanted to move out on my own for the first time you let me stay in one of your apartments and of how much you liked it when I used take you Puerto Rican pasteles. All of these memories brought a smile to my heart.

My deepest sympathy to Toribio's family. Whenever I saw Toribio visiting at St. Procopius Church in Chicago, it would bring back such great memories of my Dad, Ruben, who was Toribio and Zeferina's Compadre. They are my brother's Godparents. Toribio was very active in the Crusillista Movement, and so I will end my words with "you will be missed and "De Colores" Toribio!

Toribio was best known to me as "Padrino". My Padrino was a very well liked gentleman, especially around the St. Procopius parish. My Padrino was their on many of my milestones in life to include my baptism, the comfort he supported during my father's passing, and the blessing of my first born child. I will miss you Padrino, but you will always live in my heart and mind. Love, Your Godson Gelacio.

You gave me one of your greatest treasures and an angel from heaven, your daughter Mica's hand in marriage. For that I will always be grateful. I look forward to having as many long years together as you and Chya. I will honor your memory and fulfill your wishes.

We knew Toby and Zeferina while they lived in Chicago. Zeferina has been a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Society for many years. Our tradition is that the members pray the rosary at the wake of an immediate family member when possible. Since we are in Chicago we will remember Toby at our monthly Mass and Communion and include Zeferina in our prayers also. We know that he is in "los brazos del Senor".

I worked with Toby in the Holy Name Society of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church-Chicago for several years and found him to be a dedicated man to his family and to God. This is evidenced through his good works as a deacon at Cook County Jail. We will miss him. Que descanse en paz.
