Smith, Tonya Louise "Squirt" "Our Angel Has Flown Away To Become One Of His Angels" age 35, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, Tonya was a joyful delight. She and her mother were known as Twins. You hardly ever saw one without the other. Her entire family was devoted to the welfare and happiness of Tonya. She will be deeply, deeply missed. Tonya leaves cherished memories to her devoted parents, Jacqueline E. "Jackie" and Willie L. Smith, loving and cherished brother, William (fiancee Rhonda) Smith, nieces and nephew, Mia, Nina and Nalen, loving cousins, friends and her Ada S. McKinley Family in which the family gives special thanks to Ada S. McKinley Community Services, Stephanie Shields at the Mary Alyce School and Gwendolyn Hennings for their part in Tonya's overwhelming development. Visitation Friday, October 31, 2008, from 3 to 9 p.m., at Taylor Funeral Home, 63 East 79th Street, Chicago, IL. Wake Saturday, November 1, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with Funeral Services to follow at 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Interment Burr Oak Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tonya's memory to N.A.D.S (National Association for Down's Syndrome), P.O. Box 206, Wilmette, IL, 60091 or The Ada S. McKinley Community Services Center-McCrone Industries, 1863 S. Wabash, Chicago, IL, 60616, would be greatly appreciated. Psalms 55:6 So I said, "Oh, that I had wings like a dove! Tonya, had an infectious smile, her laugh commanded your attention and the way she gave those special "love taps", oh yeah, if you got one you knew she liked you. She was truly a light in the life of our family. I am really going to miss her.

as a mother of a 26 year old son with down syndrome, i am deeply saddened to hear of you precious angel,s passing. we never know why god gives us these special children, then takes them away from us. please accept my sincere condolences , my thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. may your memories find you comfort.
