Brian and Kathy,
My heart is sad for you. The emptiness in your hearts and home must be incredible painful. Only time can help heal your pain, it seems.

I am a good friend of Bill David's and met Brian at Solofra's when Bill and Kevin were helping organize a benefit for my family. We talked briefly about our similar situations, having a severely disabled child. My daughter Lindsay is 9 and I would imagine her and Tommy are very much alike. I never had the pleasure of meeting Tommy.

Having a child who is hospitalized frequently and medically fragile, I know that the idea of life without them is never far from your mind. You just thank God for every day you have and make the best of it, along with trying to make the best decisions possible for them, while trying to maintain normalcy for the rest of the family. I know you managed this well and should be proud of the job you did.

May God be with you every minute of your journey without Tommy. I will continue to pray for your peace of mind and strength.

Warmly,

Kevin Quille

Dear Kathy, Brian, and Family -
Tommy has taken his first steps towards God and has spoken his first words to God also. What he wasn't able to do on earth, he has now done so in Heaven. Dear Finnegan Family,
I worked with Tommy at ELIM in 2004 and I am now Michaela's teacher at AERO. Tommy had a huge impact on my life. I hope you find comfort knowing that he is in Heaven with Jesus and doing all the things he was unable to do on Earth. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Tommy touched the lives of everyone that crossed his path. I feel that God puts people in our lives for a reason. I am forever grateful that God introduced me to Tommy. Tommy taught me the true meanings of strength, courage, and love. His smile will forever be in my heart. God Bless you.
Sincerely,

Kathy, Brian, Brendan and Maura,
We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Tommy. Just remembering those beautiful eyes that just focused on you when you talked to him. The millon dollar smile. Every time we saw him, including the mornings going to school, freezing at those football games, he was Always, Always so happy. Even though we moved, we thought of Tommy often. We knew the winter months were hard on him. But he was a fighter.
We are thankful to have known such an incredible person. He taught us a very special meaning to life. The joy he felt doing the things he could do. Petting the dogs and letting the dogs lick him all over his face (I know Brian you are cringing at the thought of dirty dog spit, but it happened, quite often), feeling the sun on his skin and a kiss on the cheek. You gave him a great life here for 20 years. He will be missed, but never, ever forgotten.
Our love to you all.

Sharon Duncan

March 4, 2008

Dear Finnegan family, Thank you for sharing Tommy with us. How we enjoyed his smile and great disposition. He will be missed, and the love he shared and memory will be treasured always. My daughter loved him so , they were connected, his face always glowed when I would tease Amy ...he so enjoyed the humor. We will pray for your family and the void in your life ,but rejoice in Tommy's going to his real home, where we can all join him someday. With sympathy, Sharon Duncan

To the Finnegan Family, know that Tommy was loved at his school by his teachers, staff, and classmates. I am a former teacher from ELIM and had Tommy in my class one summer. He was truly a gift from God. That little man never said a word but a smile from him could bring such joy and feelings of accomplishment and success to all who were near him and worked with him. God bless you! He is in Jesus' arms now! He is complete.
