Expressing our sympathies.
We remember Fr. Tom & Fr. Jack's ordination photo sitting on my grandmothers buffet in her dining room. We all shared proudly having a priest in the family.

Father Powers was a great man... I remember him very well when I was a kid at St. Cyprian. He had a great sense of humor, was always friendly, and was very good to our family. My family and I send our deepest condolences to his family. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to Fr. Tom;s brother Fr. John and his sister Mary and brother-in=law Don and all his wonderful nieces and nephews. He is at home and will surely be missed. A very loving and kind man who always took the time to joke with me. My prayers are with you, he will truly be missed.

I remember Father Powers from my grade school days at St. Henry's, and I recall him as a lively young priest who always had a twinkle in his eye, even when he meted out punishment to certain miscreants - ahem! God rest your soul Father Tom (though I wouldn't have dared call him that then).

May Fr. Powers rest in Our Lord's peaceful arms forever. He was one of the first priests with whom I served Mass as an altar boy. He was a very holy man and positive Catholic role model, in my eyes for sure.

Father Powers was my "uncle" from kindergarten at St. Henry's til the present. He was always there with his kindness and wit. He was the only one who ever called me "Maggie" He will be forever in my prayers.

I have only good memories of Fr. Powers. He was a family friend for a very long time. Even after he left Our Lady of Mercy Parish our family stayed in touch with him. When my sister was sick all I had to do was call and he was there to see her. My sympathy to his family but he is now in a better place.

I only have good memories of my years at St. Henry's in Chicago. Father Powers, Father Enright & all the nuns contributed to my spiritual & academic growth as a person, enforcing & affirming the values of my parents & my community. I can truly say I was blessed to have been a student at that time (the 1950's) in history. My sincere condolences to Father Power's family & friends. God Bless.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Father Thomas M. Powers. He was a kind man who we considered a friend during his many years at St. Cyprian's Church. You are all in our prayers at this difficult time.
