Jennifer, Butch and Family..

I am so sorry to hear about Tom and the terrible illness that took his life. I knew Tom throughout our school years and knew him to be a very strong person, I am sure he fought hard. He will be missed by many people and our prayers go out to everyone close to him. To the LeConte and Kaplan Families.

I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.I WORKED WITH TOM IN THE 009TH DIST. HE WAS A GREAT POLICEMAN AND A LOT OF FUN TO WORK WITH. HE WILL BE SORELY MISSED.

I grew up with Tom on Washington St. in Chicago Ridge and he was always there when you needed a friend, he was a true friend. We will miss Tom very much and will pray for him and his family.

On behalf of my family I extend our deepest sympathies. I first met Tommy when we were kids playing little league baseball in Chicago Ridge. He was so much fun then and to my suprise he and I met again at roll call on the midnight shift in the 9th District. He hadn't changed a bit and was fun to be around as ever. Cheryl & I were very saddened to hear of Tom's passing. God's plan can be difficult to understand. He always gives us what we need to follow His plan; surrounding love, new life, and treasured memories to name but a few. Though we knew Tom through Anne, Katie and Nicole, from them we knew he was someone special.

I remember Tom being a friendly person and a great athlete in high school. My deepest sympathy to his family, my prayers are with you.

I knew Tom growing up in high school and college. He was one of the nicest guys I have met. Always making people smile. I will remember him fondly.

All Tommy's Loved Ones,

I had the honor and privilege of being Tommy's Watch Commander on the midnight shift in the 9th District. Tommy was one of the finest young men I have ever known. He came to the 9th District to learn police work and he excelled at it. He was honorable and brave, and dedicated to making the city a better place to live by protecting the innocent. I was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Tom. We were looking forward to having him back at work, he always assured us of a good laugh.

Tom was one of the nicest people I have ever met. I worked in the 009th district with Tom for a few years and actually partnered up with him numerous times. When I did I never had to worry for my own safety. Tommy was a great policeman & human being. I feel so bad that he is gone. I don't know of anyone who had anything ill to say about Tom. I will miss him & that is a fact.
