Thomas C. Downes age 78 of Chicago; beloved husband of Patti nee Wolff; loving father of Ryan Downes, Kyla (Ray) Hicks and Tyler Downes; proud grandfather "Tommy" Thomas C. Downes II, Wyatt, Hadleigh, Zoe and Cameron Hicks; dear brother of Jack (the late Nancy) Downes, Michael Downes, twin sister Mary Helen (Ernest) Dehnert and Betty Downes (John Korminik) preceded in death by Bill Downes, Jim Downes and Laura (Frank) Kearney; and his loving parents, William E. Downes and Mary Helen Corbett. Visitation Saturday January 15, 2021, 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 11:30 Hillside Free Methodist Church, 2727 Crawford Avenue Evanston, IL 60201. I was fortunate to be a lifelong friend of Tom's going back 60 years including being best man at his and Patti's wedding 45 years ago. Tom enjoyed life to the fullest and had that great Irish outgoing personality. He will be missed by all who knew him. There will never be another Tom. This is a loss I will carry with me the rest of my life. God Bless him. May he rest in peace.
