Dora - I can not think of anyone who did not love you. You were always sweet and I only have fond memories of you. To the Panos & Laffey Families: I have not seen Dora in over twenty years but I remember talking to her and always feeling good around Dora. That is the impression Dora left on you - more than twenty-one years later. God bless Dora and all of the Panos & Laffey families.

It makes sense that it should happen this way
That the sky should break, and the earth should shake
As if to say: Sure it all matters but in such an
unimportant way
As if to say:

Fly away, sweet bird of prey
Fly fly away
Nothing can stand in your way
Sweet bird, if you knew the words
I know you'd say: fly, fly away

It makes sense that it should hurt in this way
That my heart should break, and my hands should shake
As if to say: Sure it don't matter except in the most
important way
As if to say:

Fly away, sweet bird of prey
Fly fly away
I won't stand in your way
Sweet bird, if you knew the words
I know that you'd say: fly, fly away

It makes sense that it should feel just this way
That you slowly fade and yet still remain
As if to say: Everything matter in such an invisible way
As if to say: It's O.K.
Fly...away

Dear Laffey and Panos Families,
My deepest sympathies to you and your families as you grieve for your loved one. I went to school at St. Haralambos Greek School with both Dora and Georgette and eventhough we did not keep in touch afterwards, I felt a pain in my heart when my mother told me that she passed away. Being a daughter, sister, aunt, spouce and mother, I can not begin to understand the pain, sadness and anger you all must be feeling. I pray that God will give you the courage, comfort and strength to help you all get by one day at a time. Zoe se sas!!

Laffey and Panos Family: May the prayers of the Resurrection give you the strength in this time of need.

April 22, 2009

Dear Dan, Dayna, Evan, Emily, Georgette, Penny and all of you who will forever be heart broken,
My heart goes out to all of you, for a very special person was taken way too young. Dora was the true meaning of a kind, beautiful human being. I would watch her from afar and marvel at her strength, courage and patience. Dora, which means "Gift", was a true gift to everyone whose life she was a part of. Why God would bless us with this gift only for it to be short and bittersweet only confuses me. Why God would bless her with three beautiful children, a loving husband and a wonderful family, only to leave them all heartbroken and to take her so young will always be questioned and difficult to comprehend. Although she is gone, I know she will constantly be around you. I pray God to give you all the strength to get through these very difficult times, and I am praying and hoping God will reach out in a way and help her 3 babies whom she loved so much and didn't want to leave. As long as you always keep her in your thoughts, prayers and life, she will always be with you. May God give you the answers, strength, and comfort you need. We are here for all of you!

We were so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.

April 22, 2009

If tears could build a stairway
and memories a lane
I would walk right up to Heaven
and bring you back again

No farewell words were spoken
No time to say ‘goodbye’
You were gone before I knew it
and only God knows why

My heart still aches in sadness
and secret tears will flow
What it meant to love you -
No one can ever know

But now I know you want me
to mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
life still has much in store

Since you'll never be forgotten
I pledge to you today -
A hallowed place within my heart
is where you'll always stay

God chooses to take people too soon too often. I never had the pleasure of meeting Dora, but having known you - she had to be a wonderful person. I am so very sorry for your loss - my heart is with you through this journey. She is now an angel, and will watch over you and the children - let that be your strength at a time like this.

Dan and family,
I met Dora years ago outside of preschool for Dayna. Through the years our paths crossed at various kid functions. She was always a kind and down to earth person who was easy to know. Her love and devotion to her kids was so obvious. You are both great parents. I am so sorry for the loss of such a kind heart. She will be missed as much as she was loved. May God hold you up now and through all of the times ahead.

My dearest Georgette and family, I can't tell you how heart broken I am to hear of Dora's passing. She was too young to be taken so soon. Words can't begin to express how deeply sorry I am for your loss. Dora will be deeply missed by so many. She was an incredibly strong, caring, loving woman and role model for her children. My prayers are with all of you during this painful time.
