Scaglione, Thelma L.

Age 87, of Tinley Park, passed away Sunday, October 10th, 2021 at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park. Thelma is survived by her loving family, husband, John Scaglione, daughters, Maria (Christopher) Amir, Tina (William) Spagnolo, grandchildren, Jamie Spagnolo, Francesca Spagnolo and Trevor Amir. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin & Ursule Hewett (Leroux), siblings, Clementine Slater, Joan Stamford, Eleanor Sherritt, Vinton Hewett and Gordon Hewett. Thelma immigrated to the United States from Canada in 1960 and was employed by the Chapman Park Hotel in Los Angeles. Thelma & John were married on February 22nd, 1964 and then relocated to the Chicagoland area. She was a founding member of the School District 144 PTO and head of the Title VII Desegregation Committee and was lovingly known by many students as the "Picture Lady", Thelma was also a volunteer for PADS for 25 years. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL 60423 on Monday, October 18th, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service, Tuesday, October 19th, 2021 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment, Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood IL.
