Thelma Hogg Obituary
Thelma Clayton Hogg, age 98 was called to rest, September 23 2020. Thelma was born September 11, 1922, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to Quinnie and Webster N Clayton Sr., but reared in Chicago from the age of two. She was preceded by siblings, Jake, Ruth, Edward, Naomi, Ferris, Webster Jr., and Kathleen. She had been married to her best friend Carey Hogg. She is survived by her beautiful and loving sister Orville Cobb and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends who loved her dearly and will miss her greatly! Visitation for Thelma Hogg will be held on Thursday, October 8th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p. m. at Cage Memorial, 7651 S Jeffery Blvd, Chicago, IL 60649 between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m. for friends and for family starting at 4:00 p.m. Memorial Service because of COVID 19 we are limiting the funeral attendance to family only, the funeral will be streamed on the Trinity United Church of Christ website, on Friday October 9th at 12:00 p.m. We are asking in lieu of flowers, you make donations to the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference, Inc.

While it has been four years since Thelma Clayton Hobb transitioned, my childhood memories of her as Dr. Thatcher's nurse lives on. Her warmth, professionalism, and kindness are timeless. Rest peacefully!

I had not seen Miss Thelma in 50 years; but I was thinking of her just recently. I will always remember her beautiful smile, her kindness and her elegant spirit. Rest in peace.

I always admired and respected Deacon Hogg. I had the pleasure of sitting in the pew behind her at TUCC for many years. She always had something good to say to me. She always inquired about my mother. I thank and praise God for such a great example of a beautiful woman.

So many fond memories with Mama Hogg, volunteers at the Proctor Conference, working together at Kwame Nkruamah Acad.. One of my favorites, a trip to an authentic Zulu village in South Africa, where Thelma's comments after meeting the hotel bellman ( in authentic historical dress. With a smile she said, " um, um, um".
I miss her.

Nurse Hogg attended to my needs as a patient of Dr. Harold Thatcher. I will always remember both her inner and outer beauty. Her warm and inviting smile parlayed any fear I had of seeing the doctor.
