I too met Ted as a rookie trader at the Merc. He was a warm and supportive man who mentored me without being asked. That place can be quite predatory for a new member, but Ted was a great ally. I haven't seen Ted in 18 years, but his passing struck me and I wish his family the best. I will always remember him.

Dear Kohl Family,
Word doesn't travel fast to Arkansas, but it did get to me. My heart is saddened by the loss of a "Lou Mitchell Breakfast Club Member".
It was hard to get a smile going on week day mornings, but Teddy made it happen, I'll will always remember his loving family stories and his dear friendship. God made him one of the good guys wearing a white hat. I'll always be grateful for our paths which crossed and feel deep loss. My deepest sympathy.

Dear Andrea and the Kohl Family,
I am deeply sorry for your loss. I knew Ted all 34 years of my life. He was very special to my family. I loved his laugh, his skirt steaks on the grill by the pool, and his funny stories. Ted always made me feel at home in his house.
My love goes to you all.

The Kohl Family:
Ted was a good and decent man and I share your profound loss. There are countless words in our language but now all seem feeble and inadequate to describe the overwhelming sense of loss.
Please accept my condolences.

i started on the trading floor 30 years. ted was one of the people i met relatively early on. i was just out of college and he was a bit older and already an established trader. he and i never became close friends, but he was always sombody that i felt a certain warmth toward. he would take the time to talk to a young newcomer like me, unlike some traders who were full of themselves. over the years i didn't run into ted very frequently, but we always had a pleasant acknowledgement of each other. it was very sad to hear of his passing. i will think of him.

A great man with a good word about everyone. A great father and grandfather, who always spoke proudly of his family. A kind and giving friend. A wonderful giggle and mischievous smile. We can't believe that he is absent from our midst. Our dear friend will be missed and never forgotten for his kind manner. Our very deepest sympathy is extended to the entire Kohl family. You are all in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Rest in Peace, gentle friend.

Ted was my boss at the merchantile exchange for two years. Ted was always kind and supportive. He was very much like a father. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. I will always remember his smile and laughter.
