To the Brandstrader Family I am sorry to hear of your loss. Steve used to come over and play his guitar at my home on Wednesday Evenings...He will be missed but not forgotten with all the old tunes he used to pull out of his hat. May God Bless you all.

My prayers are with the Brandstrader family at this difficult time. Steve was truly a gentleman and a scholar. I got to know him when he worked for my father, a somewhat cantankerous, stubborn man. Steve dealt with him with true grace and humor. Serious illness had kept me from contact with Steve in the past year and that I truly regret. He was a great guy. God bless him.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of grief. Although my memories of Stephen are mostly limited to family reunions and other events, he was the kind of person who lit up a room, and you instantly knew he was someone special. He always brought with him warmth and laughter, and I know he will be missed by many. May your memories and support of eachother bring you comfort.

Thinking of you,

(Madeleine Bludeau's daughter)

I have tried to leave a message a couple of times, and I expect that my last name precluded the post.

Please know that we extend our most sincere sympathies and prayers for you and for Stephen. The knowledge that he is met in heaven by a pretty darn great group should be provide some solace. I'm sure they are all looking down at us with amusement and pride, as they did with Stephen.

There will be a memorial Mass at our home parish, Holy Cross of Lansing, in April for Stephen. I will notify you of the exact date.

We love you all. Therese Clingman and Bernie.

I
was so sorry to hear about Stephen. I know it is sometimes hard to find
comfort in death of someone you loved but there truely are no tears in
heaven. Our pain may never go away but in time and with faith it will
subside and as it does the legacy of Stephen will emerge and shine
brightly.

I'm so very sorry that we will not be able to attend the wake or funeral for Stephen, it is simply impossible. Please accept our sincere sympathy and our prayers for you and all the Brandstraders. He certainly was unique and interesting - always a friendly encounter! We will always be grateful for his work on the family history video that compliments Mom's written history so well. As he said to me, knowing where we came from helps us to see where we are to go. He is now in God's hands, with plenty of wonderful company and we have to be content in the knowledge that we will all be together again. We love you all.
