Mary Lou,
I worked with Stan in the 18th district. He was one of the finest men I've ever met. I can understand your deep pain on the loss of this fine man. I send you my deepest sympathy on your loss.

Stan was the first Obos I met when Bob brought me to Chicago to "meet the family" when we became engaged. I have so many memories of him and the good times we had chatting by the garage. Remember when I said I wish it would rain and suddenly it poured? Stan teased me about that for years. And Bob and I will always be grateful for the kindness and assistance both Stan and Mary Lou gave us in planning our wedding-long distance. My great memories of
Stan are grand and abundant. A most strong silent man with the best of intentions toward all. Love and prayers, Cheryl Obos

You could not ask for a better neighbor or a kinder, gentler, man. When we were snowbound he helped get us out; when we had a bad day - his smile, kind words, and sage advice got us out of that as well. Stan epitomized John Donne's words that when one of us passes - we are all the lesser for it: no man is an island. Today the bell tolls for us Stan - thank you so much for all you have given us. Mary Lou and family, our deepest heartfelt condolences.

Mary Lou, we are so sorry to hear this. Stan was a wonderful co-worker and neighbor. I can still picture him calling over to us from your deck to ours to join him for a beer or just to say hello. And all the Halloween, Birthday, block party events with the both of you, Michelle, Dennis and your grandchildren. The block will not be the same with out him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May his memory be eternal. with love and great sorrow.

Mary Lou and Michelle, Stan was a great man and neighbor. I remember how he spent an entire weekend helping us install our pool liner and actually made it a fun project. He was a very thoughtful man. Heaven has gained another angel!! The Hernandez Family

Dear Mary Lou & Family,
My heart is saddened by Stan's passing. He was a joy to work with, and well liked by all who called 018 home. When you look into the sky tonight you'll notice it a little brighter, as a new star has been added to the heavens above.

I left 018 in 1984. I worked with Stan on a number of occasions and remember him as good police officer and a gentleman. I am sure this world is a lesser place with his passing. My condolences to his family and friends.
