Dear Dorothy
Even though it's been sixty-three years since I last saw Stan, during all this time he has been in my mind countless times and I was saddened to learn of his death.
Stan and I went through high school together and graduated Lane Tech in 1945. We were assigned seats alphabetically which put Stan in the seat behind me in most of our classes. I wasn't a great math student, but Stan was, as he was in every other subect. He got me all the way through trigometry!
Stan was one of the nicest persons I had the pleasure of knowing and I'm happy our paths crossed a lifetime ago.

To S.J., Susie & Family
Darlene and I were saddened to learn of the passing of Stanley R. Banas, S.J.’s father.
We were impressed and interested to read of the many accomplishments that Stanley achieved during his very active life. He was a highly successful business owner and respected leader in his profession as well as a leading personality in his social circles. His long commitment to the Spring Manufactures Institute and the Chicago Association of Spring Manufacturers was very impressive. His many involvements in numerous not for profits tells of a man that enjoyed giving back and doing good for others. We are sure that Stanley, his wife Dorothy and the entire family took great pride in his many accomplishments. We would have been honored to know this fine man. Our prayers and thoughts go out to the family.

Stan Banas personified the best in humanity. He and Dorothy raised a beautiful familty to carry on the values they learned at home.
There are very few that can touch Stan in thoughtfullness for others and leadership in every role. He was a humanitarian, business leader and role model for so many people. I know that Stan's zest for life kept him going as long as possible. It is hard to say goodbye, but there are too many wonderful memories to keep him forever in our hearts.

To the Banas Family: I paid my respects earlier and felt the need to add one additional comment about Mr. Banas. We on the police department have a term that we reserve for those special bosses we come into contact with. Aside from Mr. Banas being the consumate gentleman and a class act, we would refer to him on the police department as a "prince" which is to say he is one that you would work for any day of the week and was a pleasure to be around.

Dear Mrs. Banas and Family,
I got to know Mr. Banas pretty well while I was the Club Accountant at Ridgemoor and he was Club President. He always had a smile and kind word for everyone, members and staff alike. I'll always remember how he would finish up our phone conversations with "Thanks, Pal".
When we moved to Northfield about 10 years ago, I was delighted to get reacquainted with you both on a different level through St. Philip the Apostle. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Rest assured he is at peace.

Please accept my condolences. I only met Mr. Banas once, last summer, but he was so charming and thoughtful that I felt like we had known each other for many years.
He was the kind of man this nation needs a lot more of. He worked hard and helped give people jobs; he served his country during wartime; he was a loyal and devoted member of the community and served in numerous volunteer capacities; and most important, he loved his family and did his best to take care of them for all of his life.
Your family has been blessed to have this wonderful man, and I extend my deepest sympathy to all of you during this time of loss and sadness. I hope you can derive comfort from a life so well lived.
