I have many wonderful memories of helping "Mrs. Lotus" teach Sunday school at St. Nicholas. She was a joy to be around and just lit up a room with her warmth and caring.

Dear Lotus Family,

We are so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Lotus was a "special" lady. She had a way of comforting and truly caring for each person she met. May her wonderful memories comfort you during this time of sorrow. The Lord now is surrounding her with just as much compassion. God bless you all.

I am so sorry to hear about Sophia's passing. She was a wonderful person, always very kind and pleasant to be around. She will be missed. My sympathy to Tom and family.

Dear Lotus Family,

I have life long memories of the Lotus Family going way back to the "Springfield Avenue" days! The only two "Greek families" on the block... Everyone else was Catholic!!! My father and your Dad were quite alot to handle back in the day HAHA!! Other memories are of the St. Nicholas Church days with Greek School and Sunday School!! She helped my Mom get through the days of me marrying a "Non Orthodox" man in 1975. My mother cried for months but I am still married 36 years later!!! After the death of my parents, "Mrs. Lotus" as we called her, took both my sister and I under her wing making sure our Orthodox upbringing stayed strong! My children and I followed her to Holy Cross Church where she got me involved in the Sunday School Program. The rest of the days are just more fond memories with the most loving..accepting..kindest women I have EVER known! She ALWAYS found the best in everyone! My heart is sad but I know that the Lord was waiting for her with loving arms. May her soul be eternal. I want to thank you for sharing your mother with my family. Dear Tom and Family,
I am very sorry to hear of Sophie's passing. I believe she must have been a wonderful Matriarch for your family. The years I worked at Nep were special, and Sophie was one of reasons why. I will always remember her smile, her easy way, her sweetness, and she was a good role model for other employees. She is now in the presence of our Lord and at peace.
