Dear Scott and family,
Please accept our sincere condolences on your loss of Sid. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

We had the honor and privilege of attending the 50th anniversary celebration of Syd Jerome's in 2008 where it was apparent to us that Syd had a wonderful abundance of family, friends, and colleagues who loved and admired him.

Most of all, it was a blessing for us to have gotten to know Sid a little bit more from our times in the store. He instantly made us feel at home, and always asked how we were, what we were up to, talked about his love for Michigan, and topped it all off with a hug and kiss for Wendy and a hardy handshake for David! No matter how your day was going when you walked in to Syd Jerome's, Sid never failed to make it better. He was, of course, always immaculately and stylishly dressed and a true gentleman.

We will miss seeing Sid when we come into the store now - but we feel fortunate to be able to continue to share in his wonderful legacy that is Syd Jerome's.

All our best,
Wendy and David Richards

The Shapiro Family - I was shocked and saddened to learn the Sid died yesterday.

Sid was always a great friend to me - and we always joked how much older he was than me. He was always upbeat and asked about what I was doing.

His spirit will live on the acts of goodness he performed and in the hearts and minds of those who cherish his memory.

Scott:

Heartfelt condolences and my deepest sympathies on the loss of your father, and kindly extend those thoughts to your entire family. Sid was a mentsch in every way, and he will be missed. He would tell me it is better to spend $4000 on a suit than to pay doctors' bills. Give my very best to your mother at this difficult time. My wife said she will light candles for the Shapiro family in this mournful time.

I was saddened to learn of the news! I was his hairstylist and always looked forward to his visits. His glasses, he had so many. He tells me " I have glasses for my glasses. I'll set you up with my guy." The sweetest, most hard working guy and so well dressed! He will be missed!
