Altman, Sidney a long time Chicago resident, died March 16, 2004. Born in N.Y. City, Feb. 1, 1913, his family moved to Chicago when he was 2 years of age. A husband, father and grandfather, Mr. Altman loved the arts, classical music and opera. He was active in Chicago theatre as a young man and a member of "The Hudson Players". A combat veteran of WWII, he served in the Philippine Islands and later became involved with the Philippine community in Chicago. He was also active in the Lion's Club and Veterans Assn. Both in his personal life and as a Chicago attorney for five decades, he always fought for the underdog. His remains are interred at the Abraham Lincoln National Veteran's Cemetery.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
