Shu-Shin Wang Obituary

So sorry for your loss. I will always have great memories of Dr. Wang and all he shared with his students. His love for teaching made me want to learn more.

My condolences to the family of Dr. Wang. I met Dr. Wang in January, 1989, and he was instrumental in my admission as a Northeastern Illinois University political science student. He was my mentor during my undergraduate years, and welcomed me again when I decided to work on my masters in International Relations. Dr. Wang valued my desire to learn and always encouraged me to go to my limits. After my graduation, I occasionally visited the school and saw him on his way to a class or to his office. He always made time to talk. He was a very educated intellectual with a great style. I will always remember him as my mentor.

Dr. Wang greatly influenced my world view via his academic instruction and carefilled attention. I am grateful for his lessons, both academically and life. His wisdom will be with me always. My deepest condolences to his family.

Dear Louisa,
So sorry for your loss. Dr. Wang was a good colleague and dedicated teacher. Students appreciated his passion ("because why" he would ask or assert before providing an explanation). I remember him calling me "little brother" in my early years at NEIU. I recall running into both of you at O'Hare several years back. I thank both of you for coming to my farewell event a couple years ago. I will always remember Dr. Wang as a kind and supportive colleague.
