To all the Koss Family, my sincere condolences in the passing of your Mom. My limited memories of your Mom was she was a peaceful, quiet woman. As Judy Spencer said, I am sure your Mom received a very warm welcome from those who went before her from 103rd and Avers.
With warmth and sympathy,

Your Mom would be proud of the manner in which you honored her memory from the wake to the beautiful service.
You know she had a huge welcome from your Dad and all of the Avers clan who went before her.

I knew Shirley way back in the 1980's when she was doing home visiting through The Port. She was a wonderful, kind, gentle woman with a huge heart and love for the poor. She offered her nursing skills free of charge to those who were home bound and poor, and gave them hope, love and companionship as well. I remember her with great fondness, and as a fellow Secular Franciscan, I will pray for her, although I cannot help think she was greeted by Our Lord with the words, "well done, good and faithful servant." moments after her passing. She did much good for others, without fanfare or attention seeking, and I have much admiration for her. May the Eternal Lord bless her for all her goodness and kindness, and may God comfort your family in this time of your loss.
