Shirley Konow Obituary

Konow, Shirley Shirley (nee Kennedy) Konow, age 82, passed away May 30, 2011, beloved wife of James Konow for 62 years (deceased), loving father of Bruce (Pansy), Doug (Linda), Terre Camp (Tom) & Kurt (Michelle), proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren & one great-great-grandchild. Shirley dedicated her life and actions in support of her unending love for her husband & family letting nothing stand in her way. Mom spent her time watching over and mentoring her children to give them the most opportunity to be good and successful people. Shirley also dedicated her time and efforts in supporting the Bremen Town Senior Center. She was nominated for her 10+ years of calling Bingo and will receive an award for her service, posthumously, on June 21, 2011. Although she was a diabetic her love for Fannie Mae candies was her secret passion. Her children loved her stories of how she purchased Fannie Mae candy for "Visitors." We still can't figure out how she made all those candy purchases without anyone knowing. Service, 10 am, Monday, June 6, 2011 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Location: 20953 W. Hoff Road, Elwood Il. 60421. For additional information call (623) 521-2305.

Dear Ma:
Its been 3 weeks since you left us. I miss you very much. I hope you are doing better now. I know you were in a lot of ongoing pain. It was very hard for all of us to let you go. I hope you are with Dad and that both of you are happy again being together. We will always love and miss both of you very, very much. Love Kurt
