Shirley was a wonderful person. I always loved visiting you and Shirley with my mom. I am very sorry not be in attendance today but my thoughts are with you. I am very sad to see her gone.

Shirley was one of my dear friends for many years. I will never forget her sweet smile, her generous heart, and her love for animals. May it give you peace to know that she is no longer in distress and pain, and she now sits at the feet of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Shirley was a wonderful, generous person and a good friend. Warm and outgoing, she was ever ready to help someone in need. She loved horses and all animals. She was forever rescuing some stray cat, paying the vet bills to restore it to health, and then finding it a home.
Many years ago, an acquaintance of her eldest son handed him a small kitten and said to feed it to his boa constrictor! I got an immediate call from Shirley, “He is NOT going to feed that kitten to that snake! You could use another barn cat, couldn't you?” and she brought the small bundle of black fur over to our house. “Squeaky” soon became yet another companion to my horse and ponies. Later, in middle-age, Squeaky graduated to full-time house cat. When Shirley visited and the cat came to greet her (animals all loved Shirley) I always used to say “here comes your cat.”
Shirley, the world was a better place when you were here.
