My deepest Sympathy,
I had the pleasure of meeting Sherman in I believe in the 80's. My mother in law was Anne Rootberg, (Nemiroff). Penner. I remember meeting all of Anne's relatives in Chicago, and Paul's cousins. You were all so kind.
I am shocked and am doing a family tree for my two Daughters Rachael and Nicole. Anne Ryan Nemiroff-Galmarini

Dear Bobbi, I have fond memories of Sherman from our grammer and high school years. Fortunately, we were able to re-connect at our class reunion and were in contact through the years since. I especially enjoyed the travelog of the past few years. I will miss the daily reports. And I will miss Sherman. My deepest sympacies to you and your family.
Your Friend,

My sincere condolences to the Rootberg family.
I was a classmate of Sherman's in High School, and have fond memories of our Jr. Prom night together with Phil Kaplan and our dates, as I related earlier to Ilene.
At our 2003 class reunion, Sherman reminded me of an incident with my father that occurred when I returned home very late; both the incident and my loss of memory about it were due to the same cause ;)
I remember Sherman's sense of humor and down-to-earth common sense. I'm sorry I didn't have the chance to get to know him better in later life.

Bobbi, Jenni, Ilene, Adam, Yael & all the kids... You know how I loved Sherman - and you know how I'll miss him. The memory I will keep is when he laughed so hard that the tears flowed - because he was playing a joke on me. He was a great guy and I'm here for all of you. Much love, Vicki

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Sherman; my condolences are with the family. I knew Sherman and his father through the Admiral Oasis Motel in Morton Grove. As Deputy Fire Marshal and later Building Commissioner, I had many memorable meetings and discussions with Sherman. I truly miss working with honorable people such as Sherman whose word could be taken as a contract. Again, my condolences.

Roberta, I was very sad to hear of Sherman's passing. Please accept my condolences. I remember Sherman through my friendship with his brother Michael. I hope he was as cheerful and enjoyed life as much as he did back in the days of the old neighborhood. Sincerely, Steven Strauss
