Sheila Pearson Obituary

Pearson, Sheila Rose Kevin

Sheila Rose Kevin Pearson, age 69, of Chicago Il., beloved wife of Dan Pearson, passed away on July 4, 2022 after a heroic battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on November 4, 1952 to Thomas Lawrence and Eileen Rose Glavin Kevin, she is survived by her husband Dan Pearson and brother Berry Kevin.

An entertaining and talented storyteller, friends and family never tired of her observations of life and the many tales of her past and varied experiences. A friend to many, Sheila graduated from Mother McCauley High School (1970). She subsequently received her B.S. of Education at Western Illinois University and M.S. of Education at DePaul University in Chicago.

Sheila taught at a number of Chicago schools including St. Benedicts, St. Tarcissus, Austin and Fenger High Schools, but the majority of her teaching career was spent as an Educational Specialist at the Lincoln Park Zoological Gardens, where she designed, developed and taught programs for children, families, adults, teachers and volunteers. Memorials may be made to the World Wildlife Fund (worldwildlife.org) or the American Cancer Society (cancer.org)
